💗 What Is Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer occurs when cells in the breast grow abnormally and uncontrollably, forming a lump or mass called a tumor.
These cancerous cells can invade surrounding tissues and, in some cases, spread (metastasize) to other parts of the body through the blood or lymphatic system.

It usually begins in the milk-producing ducts (ductal cancer) or lobules (lobular cancer), which are the glands that produce milk.

1. Non-Invasive (In Situ) Breast Cancer

These are early-stage cancers that have not spread beyond their original site.

  • Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS):
Cancer cells form inside the milk ducts but haven’t spread. It’s highly treatable and not life-threatening if detected early.

2. Invasive (Infiltrating) Breast Cancer

These cancers spread beyond the ducts or lobules into surrounding breast tissue.

  • Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC):
The most common type (about 80% of all cases). Begins in milk ducts and invades nearby tissues.

  • Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC):
Starts in the lobules and spreads to nearby tissues; may occur in both breasts.

Cervical Cancer Screening is a preventive health test used to detect abnormal cells or early signs of cancer in the cervix — the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina.

The goal is to find precancerous changes (caused mostly by the Human Papillomavirus or HPV) before they turn into cervical cancer.

When detected early, cervical cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable forms of cancer in women..
